The IEP Essentials!
The IEP Essentials is a must have for parents/guardians of Children with Special Needs.

The Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) is a plan or program developed to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the law and is attending an elementary or secondary educational institution receives specialized instruction and related services.

Students are at the center of the Individualized Program Plan and Individual Student Profile (IPP/ISP) process. When the focus is on students’ individual strengths, needs and participation, the IPP/ISP process can provide many benefits for all partners.

Navigating through the school system can be a daunting task but trying to advocate and keep track of ALL the information for a child with Special Needs can be overwhelming.

Over the years I have tried numerous ways to keep track of Clark's progress, meeting notes, evaluations, recommendations, doctor visits etc etc. I am sure many of you can relate. So taking ideas from different procedures I have tried...I think I have come up with a great organizational system. Try it - you might like it!

This resource is designed to keep you organized and on track with your child's progress, evaluations, testing, reports etc. It can be expanded upon or minimized..it is your choice!

REMEMBER:

In its basic terms the IEP should tell you where a child is, where he/she should be going, how he'll/she’ll get there, how long it will take, and how you will know he/she has arrived.
It should always be based on what the child needs not what the school can provide.
